Procedures Of A Computer Based Data Collection System

The final stage of a data collection system is called a database, and a computer based data collection is one of these types, it is also known as automated data collection system. This system helps to easy access of a data in an organized way which is easily accessible as well as useful. The data is available in an organized tabular form or as a spreadsheet form when a computer or any other automation is used for the collection of the data. It is from this particular table or spreadsheets that data are reviewed and organized to determine the necessary patterns.

The most famous data collection system of the computers we all know is the e-mail address book. Each time an e-mail whether it be outgoing or incoming is saved in our e-mail address book which is arranged and shuffled according to name or e-mail address. The e-mail programs are so arranged with coding which has all the addresses and saved in the form of a spreadsheet. Whenever a spreadsheet is made it has an easy accessibility. In fact, the spreadsheet format is not viewed as the program is so designed and built in an interface which shows the message in a dialogue box.

Thus by this we get a dual computer based data collection system in which a total collection of e-mail address both outgoing and incoming are arranged in order and it further also has the capacity to complete the address we start typing automatically.

How Valuable A Computer Based Data Collection System Is

Although a couple of values are not real known the computer based data collection has a lot of values. The first and foremost value of using a computer to make a computer based data collection system avoids the company from appointing an employee who will be tracing data and input it. It is better to install a computer than to pay wages to an employee, but is has its own dis-advantages. The computer will be unable to reason and there are un-necessary data in the computer based data collection system.

The secondary factor of having a computer based data collection system is that it can accumulate and process large number of data which in no way can be done manually. But, again there are accumulations of junk data in this.

When we have collected all of the data, the computer based data collection system can output all these data in many formats, and are arranged and organized by the way we select them.

The little known fact is that collection of data can be done stealthily. Computers have the ability to monitor any function that pass through its processor, it can also log on to anything of that particular function. By this a computer based data collection system has the ability to generate information about a function without the knowledge of the operator.
