The changes made in the organization process or a project is implemented and tracked easily with the change management procedure in the organization. It is a series of steps that helps you manage the people who are affected by the changes being made. Any change that is needed is requested and this is the first step in the change management procedures. The impact of the change is also analyzed. All the concerned department are intimated of the change that is requested and how it will affect their process. If there is anything that contradicts their views, it is also expressed in the change management document. The resulting document is passed on to the top management for approval of the change to be made.

Organizational changes that might affect the behavioral patterns of the users are implemented using the change management procedures. Without the change management procedures in place the user might not know how to react to a particular situation. Some of the processes might be repeated and will be faced frequently. If a procedure is not implemented to manage these, the user might have to start from the beginning and spend a lot of time on implementing the change. With the procedure in place they know what to do when a particular change is requested and the time taken to implement that change is drastically reduced.

Change management applies to any business in any vertical. It can be applied to any project from planning to implementation.
