Introduction to human resource management

Human resource management is the process by which the organization important asset, the people, is managed to achieve the goals set by the organization. For this the employees are trained if necessary in the required skills before they are deployed in the projects concerned. It is necessary to look into the personal goals of the employees too.

 

All the issues related to the employees are dealt with the human resource management team in the organization.

Employees who are personally satisfied with their reaching of their goals are more efficient in their work than others who do not meet their personal goals.

 

Apart from that people who have knowledge about a particular task or process do it efficiently than those who do not have the required knowledge. That is where the training comes to the employees. The employees are trained in the skills needed for a particular project so that they perform well to reach the goals set by the department, which in turn meets the goals of the organization.

 

There are many functions that are performed by the human resource management team. Payroll management is one of the functions where they need to check the time worked by an employee each month and calculate the pay that is to be paid to them. Upon approval of the time worked, the pay check is released or the amount is deposited in their account every month. For this function they have to interact with the time management module to get the number of working hours of the employee for a particular month. Similarly interaction with the finance module is also possible when payment is made. Deductions are made wherever needed.

 

Recruitment of personnel for the various projects is another task performed by the human resource management team. Advertising for the position, collecting applications, short listing candidates for interview, scheduling interviews, updating the results, recruiting the candidates, planning the induction program for the recruited candidates, are all involved in the recruitment process. Now-a-days the role of information technology on these processes is commendable. Without IT, it would be tedious to perform all these functions.
