Implementing change management – Factors to consider

Implementing change management needs a lot of factors to be considered. One of the major factors that you should consider is how the impact of the change will be on the existing system and on the existing business. You have to prepare for the change management implementation to take place.

Communication is an important aspect of implementing the change. Communicate to the users about the ensuing change so that they can also give their feedback on the change requested. You have to get the feedback of all the users on the change before implementing it. If required, you have to get the approval of the management for implementing the change.

Find out the need for the change and if it is essential then you can go for it. The cost of implementing such change should also be considered. Analyze the impact of the change on the existing system. This would enable you to find the risks involved in implementing the change. If the impact is positive then you can very well carry on with implementing change management.

Another factor that you should consider in change management is the resistance that you get for the change in the system. Not all users will accept the change as it is. There will be resistance. You have to find out the persons who are all supporting the change and involve them first. The key stakeholders who support the change should be considered first and you have to gain the confidence among them. They will be influencing the others to accept the change and go on with it. Passing positive information regarding the change is the key to acceptance.

Proper support and training, needs to be given for the users to accept the change in the system. Without proper training they cannot use the features and the modifications that are done in the system.
